Prince Albert police have arrested a 24-year-old man from Alberta in connection to a shooting earlier this month in the city. On Dec. 5, officers were called to a house party that had deteriorated into an altercation.

A man was found suffering from a gunshot wound to his lower extremities in the 500-block of Southwood Drive.

The 26-year-old victim was taken to Victoria Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The Edmonton man is facing charges that include using a firearm to commit aggravated assault, possession of a restricted firearm while prohibited and discharging a firearm with intent to wound, maim or disfigure.

He is scheduled to make his first court appearance Thursday in Prince Albert provincial court.
