TORONTO – At least eight people were treated for carbon monoxide poisoning at a Toronto restaurant Sunday night.
Fire crews responded to the scene at around 11 p.m. at a Chinese Halal restaurant near Finch Avenue and Leslie Street.

Individuals affected by the the carbon monoxide were treated on a paramedic bus before being taken to hospital.

Toronto Fire officials said the carbon monoxide levels were five times higher than normal.
It is believed a broken hot water heater was behind the leak.
