SASKATOON – Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall hasn’t joined a growing list of leaders hoping for the sale of marijuana, if legalized, in government-owned liquor stores. He said the provincial government hasn’t given any thought to the idea.
“This is all very preliminary, and so our counsel would be, let’s learn as much as we can,” Wall said on Monday.

Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne and Manitoba Premier Greg Selinger have expressed interest in placing pot at liquor distributors.
Saskatchewan’s premier cited concerns about the technology available for policing people suspected of driving under the influence of marijuana.
“There are still questions to ask before we start worrying about where it’s sold,” Wall said.
The federal Liberals pledged to legalize recreational marijuana as part of their recent election campaign.
