Hundreds of people lined up in the cold, all for the warmth of a traditional Christmas dinner hosted by the Salvation Army.
“It’s very important to bring some sense of community. It can be a very lonely holiday. Christmas seems to be quite emotionally charged,” said Judy Regemay, Executive Director of the Harbour Light Centre.

Over 100 volunteers at the Centre served around 1500 traditional turkey dinners today for Vancouver’s least fortunate.
Meanwhile, White Spot continued its annual tradition of holding an annual Christmas lunch to raise money for the Richmond Hospital Foundation.
“It’s really moving to watch the guests, but also our staff. We’re so excited the staff are prepared to give up a special day for them to be a part of this as well,” said Warren Erhart, White Spot President.
More than $100,000 has been raised at the Richmond location over the last 14 years.
