Ont. biker charged in death of Outlaws Motorcycle Club member

SASKATOON – An Ontario man remains in custody after making his first court appearance in a murder case. John Glen MacAulay, 46, faces a second-degree murder charge in the 2014 death of Norman Playter.

Mounties say the homicide happened on May 5, 2014 in the Saskatoon area.

MacAulay is from North Bay, Ont. but was living in Saskatoon at the time of the alleged murder.

Playter was originally reported missing to Calgary police however the investigation into his disappearance found that he had been visiting the Saskatoon area in the days leading up to his death.

RCMP officials said both men were members of the Outlaws Motorcycle Club and knew each other.

MacAulay will be back in Saskatoon provincial court next Monday.
