WINNIPEG — Winnipeg police made a move on a home in River Heights Wednesday evening where they found a marijuana grow operation.

Officers say they’d been aware of the possible grow op in the 300 block of Niagara Street since the fall, and got a search warrant. Wednesday the tactical support team executed the search warrant and took two people into custody.

Inside the home, officers found and seized:

– 36 Marijuana plants with an estimated street value of $39,200.00
– Approximately three pounds of harvested marijuana with an estimated street value of $7,500.00
– Approximately 8.5 pounds of marihuana shake (used to make cannabis resin) with an estimated street value of $21,250.00
– Grow equipment valued at $6,890.00

A 43-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman are facing several drug related charges. They’ve been released on a promise to appear.
