TORONTO — York Regional Police have laid additional sexual assault charges against a retired officer after investigators say they heard from more alleged victims in incidents involving children dating back to the 1960s — including when the accused was still on the force.
Police say three additional alleged victims came forward after the initial charges were announced last November, describing two alleged incidents occurring between 1967 and 1970, and a third in 1996.
According to investigators, the incidents occurred prior to the accused becoming a police officer in 1974, during his career and after his retirement in 2006.

Donald Clark, 65, is charged with the historic Criminal Code offences of sexual intercourse with a female under 14, sexual exploitation, sexual assault and two counts of gross indecency.
He was arrested and charged with sexual assault and sexual interference last Nov. 10 after police alleged they received a report a young girl had been sexually assaulted on Oct. 30.
Since 2007 Clark was employed part time on a retiree contract as a fleet assistant, but was terminated after his initial arrest.
Clark was re-arrested Tuesday and is due in court on the new charges Wednesday.
In a statement, Police Chief Eric Jolliffe said his police force is “extremely disappointed that someone who had taken an oath to protect our community is charged with such serious criminal offences.”
He said that after the initial allegations officers with the special victims unit launched a “thorough investigation” of Clark’s personal and employment history.
Jolliffe said the charges show that “every person, regardless of their employment, shall be held accountable for their actions.”
Police have released photos of Clark taken over various points in time and Jolliffe is asking any more alleged victims to come forward.
