SIGA reports 27 per cent revenue increase

The Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority (SIGA) announced last year’s revenues increased 27 per cent over the previous year’s net earnings on Wednesday.

SIGA says it generated $267.2-million in revenue with a profit of $81.6-million for the 2011/2012 fiscal year.

“The improvements to our facilities and our focus on a number of operational enhancements have improved the entertainment experience for our customers and will provide long-term sustainable returns for our beneficiaries” said SIGA President and CEO Zane Hansen.

As a non-profit corporation, 100 per cent of SIGA’s profits are distributed to First Nation communities, Community Development Corporations and the government’s general revenue fund in Saskatchewan.

SIGA said this growth was also attributed to the mild weather and favourable market conditions including a strong provincial economy contributed to increased visitation to the casinos and to their overall revenue.
