MONTREAL – One woman is in hospital after being hit by a truck on the Highway 40 service road at the corner of Tolhurst and Crémazie streets.
It happened around 12 p.m. Wednesday.
The woman was crossing the street when she was struck.
She is visually impaired and was accompanied by her guide dog, who was also hit by the truck.

“A truck possibly came out of a side street and hit the victim and continued on…and realized shortly after that there was an impact,” said Abdullah Emran with Montreal police.
The woman was transported to hospital in critical condition.
“She is now out of danger,” said Emran.
Officers are on the scene and a perimetre has been established.
