WINNIPEG — Guido Amsel, the man accused of sending bombs in the mail last summer, will not get an out-of-province judge to review his bail hearing.

Amsel was arrested July 4, 2015 after three letter bombs sent to two lawyers offices and his ex-wife’s work, went off.

His ex-wife’s lawyer, Maria Mitousis was seriously injured. She lost her right hand and sustained injuries to her face, neck and chest.

Amsel was denied bail last year and requested an out of province judge to review his bail decision.

Justice Glen Joyal denied that request Thursday.

“The justices of the Court of Queens Bench can decide this case fairly,” said Joyal.
