Decomposing corpse found in garden of Paris Airbnb rental

French police are investigating after a woman’s decomposing body was found in the garden of an Airbnb rental in suburban Paris over the weekend.

According to Agence France-Presse (AFP), a group of friends used the popular property-sharing website to book the house for a weekend party when they discovered the body.

Citing a police source, AFP reported the body was found “hunched in a dug-out area, her head against the ground, covered in branches and surrounded by wood stumps.”

The body was located at bottom of the property, near a wooded area, the news agency reported.

The Associated Press reported that the body may have been placed near the woods deliberately and officials believe foul play may have been a factor in the woman’s death.

Police questioned the group of renters and Airbnb removed the rental listing from its site on Sunday.

No charges have been laid.
