Weaselhead was last reported as being on his way home from a social gathering. Gleichen RCMP said his “impact injuries” were consistent with being struck by a motor vehicle.

Police are looking to speak to anyone who was driving on Highway 842 between 9 p.m. on Jan. 31 and 1 a.m. on Feb. 1.

“The driver of the offending vehicle would likely have known they struck something, but due to dark stretch of highway, may not have seen anything at the time,” police said in a Tuesday statement. “The investigation to date suggests the vehicle involved would have sustained some damage.”
