WINNIPEG — Jamie Hall, the Manitoba Liberal’s candidate for Southdale is under fire for recently found comments made on social media, containing derogatory words and views about women.
Hall apologized for his tweets but defended himself, telling the Canadian Press, “I have countless friends that are women, my girlfriend, my mother, my sister, my grandmas who are no longer with me. And I am not by any means sexist.”
Manitoba NDP has called on Liberal Party leadership to remove Hall from candidacy.

The Manitoba Liberal Party said both the party and Hall will be taking the night to decide what the best course of action and will have an answer Thursday.
Hall’s Twitter account has become private since the tweets have been revealed.
