Burnaby RCMP issue warning after 3rd sex assault in just over a month

Burnaby RCMP have put out a troubling warning to the public.

Officers are once again searching for a sexual assault suspect after the third attack in the city in just over a month.

Mounties say a woman was walking home from the SkyTrain on Springer Avenue near Brentwood early Tuesday morning when she was approached from behind by a man who groped her, then took off.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian man, around 5ft 8, with a medium build. He was seen wearing a dark hooded jacket.

Officers are still investigating two other recent sexual assaults. On Jan. 29, a similar situation occured on Springer Avenue, near Braelawn Drive. Late last month, a woman was attacked near the popular Burnaby Mountain Urban Trail.

RCMP do not believe this latest incident is connected to the previous incidents.
