WINNIPEG – Anaheim Ducks forward Jakob Silfverberg scored in overtime to hand the Winnipeg Jets their second three-game losing streak in March with a 3-2 final at MTS Centre on Sunday afternoon.

Winnipeg opened the scoring 6:29 into the game thanks to Paul Postma’s first goal of the season. The defenceman knocked in his own rebound past Ducks goalie John Gibson off the Jets’ sixth shot of the game. The goal also marks the first time Postma has scored since December 13, 2014.
Anaheim though evened things up roughly ten minutes later as Jamie McGinn tipped in a Kevin Bieksa point shot for a power play goal. McGinn’s 19th of the season came just a handful of minutes after he lost a fight to Jets forward Adam Lowry. It’s assumed Lowry picked a scrap with McGinn in retaliation for a big hit the Ducks forward laid on Mark Scheifele earlier in the game.
Blake Wheeler nearly put the Jets back in front late in the first period but rang his shot off the crossbar.

Both teams traded goals in the second period starting with Ryan Kesler’s one-timer 20 seconds into the frame. Kesler was left alone in the slot allowing him to score to give Anaheim its first lead of the game. Wheeler later replied for the Jets by snapping a ten-game goalless drought.
Winnipeg’s Mathieu Perreault was forced out of the game late in the second after catching a rut which caused the back of his head to slam into the boards. The Ducks also lost forward David Perron to an injury in the period. Perron suffered an upper-body injury when he fell awkwardly into the boards.
The Jets came close to taking the lead at the 17:33 mark of the third period but Ducks defenceman Hampus Lindholm robbed Alex Burmistrov from a sure goal.
Silfverberg buried the winner with less than a minute left to play in overtime just moments after Jets goalie Michael Hutchinson made a remarkable save.
Hutchinson made 30 saves in the loss compared to Gibson’s 27.
Chase De Leo played in his first NHL game after being called up by the Jets on an emergency basis earlier in the day. The Manitoba Moose leading scorer filled in for an injured Marko Dano. De Leo logged three hits, a plus-one rating and 10:03 of ice time in his debut.
The Jets continue their four-game homestand on Tuesday night against the Vancouver Canucks.
