WINNIPEG — Winnipeg artist Jackie Traverse showcased a variety of works relating to missing and murdered Indigenous women at an exhibition on Sunday afternoon.
The works were created between 2007 and 2016 and are meant to honour and remember Indigenous women who have been killed or have disappeared.

“I felt helpless as a woman. But as an artist, I have a voice and I could say something,” she said.

Traverse spoke with people who came to the exhibition at Neechi Commons.
A short video that she created in 2007 called ‘Butterfly’ was also screened.
