CALGARY – A Saskatchewan man has been declared a dangerous offender for violent attacks on two women in Banff, Alta., four years ago.
A Calgary judge says the behaviour of Corey Bitternose was cruel and vicious.
Instead of locking him up indefinitely, the judge has issued a sentence of 20 years for all of his offences, giving him credit for six years time served.

After his sentence he will be kept under tight supervision in the community.
Bitternose, who is 42, admitted he kidnapped the women in 2008 after they accepted a ride home with him, then repeatedly sexually assaulted one of them.
He has a long history of criminal convictions involving violent attacks on men and women.
