WATCH: The Site C dam has hit another milestone, despite the protests over the project. As Keith Baldrey reports, a $470 million contract to build the project's turbines and generators has been announced – Apr 6, 2016

The province held a press conference today to announce that Voith Hydro Canada has won the contract to supply the turbines and generators for the Site C Dam.

Voith Hydro is a family-owned company based in Germany, with Canadian headquarters in Montreal.

Under the $470-million contract, Voith will be responsible for designing, supplying and installing the equipment.

Construction of the Site C Dam began in the summer of 2015, and will finish in 2024.
