The solar panel is used to power the scoreboard for the Trout Lake Little League. Parents discovered it missing earlier this week.

The scoreboard is too far from an electrical outlet, so without the panel it’s useless.

Replacing it would cost $7,500 – money the league doesn’t have.

“It’s put us in a bad predicament. We don’t actually have the funds to replace it,” said Jen Smythe, a volunteer with the league.

“I was just heartbroken. Why would someone do that? It’s not nice. It’s bullying, basically,” said Miller Mulcahy.

The league’s opening ceremony was earlier today, with games beginning tomorrow.
