CALGARY – Police have charged a Sundre, Alta. man and his son after their Calgary business went up in flames last year.
The fire in the 6000 block of 6 Street S.E. sparked at around 2:30 a.m. on Sept. 5, 2015.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze and keep it from spreading to neighbouring businesses, but damage was extensive and estimated to be around $500,000.

Evidence found at the scene indicated the fire was suspicious, prompting an eight-month investigation by the Calgary Police Service Arson Unit.
Two of the three business owners are now charged with arson and insurance fraud in relation to the fire.

Nicolas Rocco Gallipoli, 28, is charged with arson damage to property, arson damage to own property risking others and arson for a fraudulent purpose.
His father, 62-year-old father Mario Rocco Gallipoli, is charged with one count of fraud over $5,000.
Both are schedule to appear in court on April 29.
