Brooks RCMP are investigating after they say a man tending his cattle in a field about 10 kilometers west of Brooks, Alta. found what are believed to be human remains.
The discovery was made Thursday, April 28 and a thorough search of the area was conducted Friday with the help of Medicine Hat Search and Rescue, the RCMP’s Police Dog Services and the Forensic Identification Section.

An autopsy was completed in Calgary Monday, confirming that the remains were human.

“Additional examination will be required to determine the gender, age and identity of the individual,” RCMP said in a press release.
The RCMP’s Major Crimes Unit is assisting Brooks RCMP with the ongoing investigation.
