Teen girl killed in northwest Alberta crash

A teenage girl has died of her injuries following a single-vehicle rollover in northwestern Alberta early Saturday morning.

RCMP said officers were called to a crash northeast of Fairview on Township Road 822 near Range Road 31 at 4:30 a.m.

They said a 16-year-old girl was taken to Grande Prairie Hospital by STARS Air Ambulance where she later died.

An 18-year-old man who was driving the vehicle was taken to hospital in Fairview before being airlifted to hospital in Edmonton where he remains.

According to RCMP, both occupants were from Fairview.

An investigation to determine what caused the crash is ongoing.
