The report, released today in Halifax, says investing in international education requires federal funding support for new scholarships for international post-secondary students.
The task force recommends the creation of a new Council on International Education and Research to provide the federal government with policy advice.
Paul Davidson, president of the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada, says the initiatives will keep Canada in a successful and competitive position for international education.
He says not only will the country benefit from an economic standpoint, but it will position Canada as an international leader in research and innovation.
