MONTREAL – A boil water advisory is in effect for several cities in the northern areas of Greater Montreal, including Saint-Eustache, Boisbriand, Blainville, Mirabel, Sainte-Thérèse and Rosemère.

The measure was put in place after a drop in pressure in the water system.

Officials insist the advisory is preventative.

Residents are asked to boil their water for a minimum of one to five minute.
