Lawyers for Quebec television personality Julie Snyder, the estranged wife of former Parti Québécois leader Pierre Karl Péladeau, and Claude Viens, a private detective hired to follow her, met in private Wednesday evening.
They were in court to find out who allegedly paid to have her followed last month.
Péladeau and Snyder announced their separation in January after less than six months of marriage.

Earlier this week, Snyder’s lawyers filed a request for an injunction asking for the release of the name of the person who ordered the alleged surveillance.
They said Snyder has suffered from constant stress and fears for her safety since June 26, the day she saw someone at Quebec City airport reportedly following her.
The popular host and producer is also asking for a halt to any current and future surveillance directed her way.
The identity of the person who had her followed is not expected to be revealed to the public.
