HAMILTON – Hamilton police say homicide detectives are investigating an inmate death at the Hamilton-Wentworth Detention Centre.
Spokeswoman Sgt. Terri-Lynn Collings gave no details of how the inmate died, but described it as a “suspicious sudden death.”

A spokesman for the corrections ministry confirmed there had been a death and a number of prisoner illnesses at the jail on Wednesday.
However, Brent Ross said he could give no other details due to the police investigation.
