Penticton man dies after motorcycle accident in Osoyoos

One person has died following a motorcycle accident in Osoyoos Sunday morning.

A northbound motorcycle hit a car that was emerging from a gas station along Highway 97 on the north side of the town, according to Sgt. Harold Hallett with South Okanagan Traffic Services (SOTS).

“The motorcycle struck the drivers side of the car,” Hallett said in a statement.

“Both the rider and the car driver were taken to hospital with injuries.”

Hallett said the 26-year-old motorcyclist, who is from Penticton, subsequently died.

The 53-year-old driver of the car, who is from Osoyoos, had minor injuries.

SOTS has an investigation underway.
