An investigation is underway after a Saskatoon police officer shot and killed a dog while at a dispute this afternoon.
The shooting happened after police were called to a landlord/tenant dispute in the 1300-block of 22nd Street West just before 12:30 p.m.

A large-mixed breed dog had been placed inside the residence but escaped through an unsecured door and attacked the officer, knocking him to the ground.
He then fired a single shot to protect himself, resulting in the death of the dog.
The officer received minor injuries during the attack.
