Starting September 19, Lethbridge’s Public Safety Communications Centre will begin dispatching for Ridge Regional Public Safety Services. The work being done will include monitoring radio traffic, and providing assistance to officers when requested, among other things. It’s an agreement that Lethbridge Mayor Chris Spearman believes could pay big dividends.

“Bringing in the expertise of our PSCC staff is an excellent way to add another level of safety for officers and public in rural areas,” Spearman said. “It’s also an opportunity for the City of Lethbridge to foster a new regional partnership, something that is highly encouraged by the Government of Alberta within the new Municipal Government Act.“
