Police are investigating a stabbing in a café early Saturday morning in Montreal’s Saint-Leonard borough.
Officers were called to the Monte Cristo coffee shop on Pie-IX Boulevard, near Jean-Rivard Street, at around 1 a.m.
According to Montreal police spokesperson Jean-Pierre Brabant, a man his his 40s was stabbed on the leg with a sharp object.

He was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Brabant said the stabbing occurred following an altercation with at least one other patron in the restaurant.
According to police, the victim is cooperating but isn’t saying much.
So far, there have been no arrests and police haven’t released any information on whether or not there is a suspect.
