Teenage boy seriously injured after being struck near northeast Calgary high school: EMS

EMS has confirmed the pedestrian hit near Bishop McNally High School Tuesday morning was a boy in his mid-teens.

In a news release Tuesday afternoon, EMS said the boy was transported to Foothills hospital in serious condition, with possible head injuries and other soft tissue injuries.

The incident occurred just after 10 a.m. at Falworth Road and 54 Street N.E., which is along the south edge of the high school.

The Calgary Police Service (CPS) told Global News the call came in from a vice principal at Bishop McNally High School, but could not confirm whether the victim was a student from the school.CPS is investigating the cause of the accident.
