The Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit is investigating the death of a man in the community of Crescent Heights on Thursday.
Officers were called to Centre Street and 12 Avenue North at around 4:20 a.m. for reports of a man who appeared to be in medical distress inside a car stopped in the middle of the intersection.
When police arrived, they found a vehicle peppered with bullet holes and a man dead inside. A firearm was seized at the scene.
Police said there is nothing to indicate the shooting was random.
