Charges laid in violent November robbery in downtown core

A London man is facing multiple charges in connection to a violent robbery late last year in the downtown core, police said Wednesday.

According to investigators, the robbery took place just after 2 p.m. on November 5, 2016 at a business located at 223 Dundas St.

Police allege a lone male suspect entered the business, assaulted the store clerk multiple times with an unspecified weapon, and fled on foot with property and an undisclosed amount of cash. The clerk suffered minor injuries in the incident, police said in a media release at the time.

On Wednesday, police said a male suspect was arrested without incident on March 24 in connection to the case.

A 42-year-old London man faces charges of armed robbery, assault with a weapon, and possession of stolen property, police said.
