The London Food Bank is making one last push for donations on the final day of their 30th annual spring food drive.
Jane Roy, co-director of the food bank, believes they’ll match last year’s total.
“We’re just looking for a good final day. A lot of food that was collected over the weekend will come in today, tomorrow and Wednesday, so I don’t think there’s any problem. Londoners have been incredibly generous this Easter.”
Roy hopes to have the final total for the spring food drive tabulated by Wednesday.

Demand at the food bank, which currently serves over 3,500 families a month, has increased 2.5 to 3 per cent from the same time last year.

“A couple of years ago, we had started to see a decrease and we were really happy about that, but last year and this year we started to see the numbers creep back up,” Roy said. “So 3,500 families a month translates to about 9,000 individuals a month that we help directly.”
Residents looking to make a donation can drop off non-perishable food items at most local grocery stores and all fire halls.
