Calgary police are investigating a shooting in the community of Tuxedo Park on Sunday.

It happened in the 2900 block of Centre Street at around 5 p.m.

Police said one man was taken to hospital in life-threatening condition. However, his condition has since been upgraded to stable.

Investigators said the shooting is not believed to have been a random attack.

Sunday’s shooting marks the second time in a week that detectives have launched an investigation in the community of Tuxedo Park.

On Monday, May 1, police cordoned off a four-block radius at 29 Avenue N.E. and 2 Street N.E. after an injured man brought to hospital later died.

Family have identified the victim as 44-year-old Tim Voytilla, and said he died after being shot.

During a Monday news conference, Staff Sgt. Steve Lorne said police don’t know at this time if the incidents are related.
