Collision involving tanker truck closes westbound QEW west of Hwy. 427

A collision involving a tanker truck and several vehicles has closed the westbound QEW just west of Hwy. 427 before Dixie Road.

Ontario Provincial Police said a tanker truck and four other vehicles were involved in a collision which resulted in the tanker spilling diesel all over the highway.

No serious injuries have been reported and cleanup crews are on scene.

Motorists driving on the westbound Gardiner Expressway are being forced off onto Hwy. 427 north.

Drivers on southbound Hwy. 427 are being redirected onto the eastbound Gardiner.

Police said the closure will take an hour or longer to clear.

The collision reconstruction unit and traffic support unit are investigating.
