The “use of force” by Hamilton police officers continues to decline.

A report will be presented to the city’s police services board on Friday,  indicating that there were 172 incidents in which officers used force last year.

“Use of force” includes any incident in which an officer draws, points or discharges a firearm, uses a conductive energy weapon (Taser), baton or pepper spray or uses physical force against a member of the public.
