The United Way is looking at the launch of its Burlington office as the official kick-off to a newly amalgamated organization.
The Halton hub on South Service Road marks the consolidation of two offices and four branches under the Halton-Hamilton banner.
President and CEO, Jeff Vallentin, says donors can rest assured that amid so much change, the focus on supporting local agencies will remain the same.

“What’s raised in a community is going to stay in a community, it’s simply a matter of donor preference or tracking postal codes,” he said.
“People are keenly interested to be supportive of their neighbours and their local community and we’re here to help with that.”
Vallentin says the organizations’ decision to amalgamate was a matter of finding efficiencies and strengthening fundraising efforts centred on tackling poverty and helping youth.

Staffing will essentially stay the same, according to Vallentin, with 23 employees working out of the Burlington office.
However, current roles and teams within the organization are likely to shift, he says.
“We have already recruited a single cabinet to run the campaign for this year, fantastic volunteers that are going to be looking across five communities and then of course through all of our workplace partnerships.”
