Calgary police took one man into custody on Wednesday following an investigation into a suspicious package near Marlborough Mall.
Officers were called to the 600 block of 36 Street N.E. at about 3:30 p.m. after a man was seen walking near the LRT lines with a smoking bag.
The scary sighting prompted police to close down area roads and temporarily halt CTrain service in the area while they investigated.
Members of the Calgary Police Service bomb disposal unit deployed two robots and a technician dressed in a protective suit to examine the bag.
