Police hunt for lone gunman after triple shooting at sports bar in Woodbridge, Ont.

York Regional Police are on the hunt for a lone gunman after three men were injured following a shooting at a sports bar in Woodbridge, Ont., late Monday evening.

The incident happened around 11:30 p.m. at the Novantesimo Minuto Sports Bar located at 7611 Pine Valley Drive near Highway 7.

Investigators believe a lone suspect with a long gun approached three men outside the bar and began firing shots.

Police said all three victims, a 29-year-old man and a 33-year-old man from Toronto, and a 47-year-old man from Vaughan, were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A large perimeter was set up and the police tactical team was also brought in for the investigation. Police said the suspect fled the scene wearing dark clothing.

There’s no word yet on what led to the shooting.

A patron who frequents the bar told Global News it’s a friendly spot where people meet up to talk about soccer.

“We come here every morning to enjoy the nice espresso coffee that they serve here,” Roberto Santelli said. “I would never expect something like that to happen here. It’s an older crowd. Of course there’s younger people too. It’s mainly a soccer bar. We discuss teams and rivals.”
