An odd side effect of the widespread cellular outage happened in Guysborough, N.S., this afternoon.
The local RCMP detachment and Emergency Health Services had to temporarily move their operations to the Robins Donuts on Highway 11, after their telephone lines went down.

The RCMP, through a notification on the municipality’s Facebook page, requested that in the event of an emergency to call 911 — and the local doughnut shop’s number.
The region’s RCMP and EHS units were all being dispatched from the doughnut shop.

They have since moved to the municipality’s council chambers and will continue to operate out of there until phone service returns.
