Peterborough police are investigating an alleged home invasion at a residence on Chamberlain Street.
Officers were called to the home near Brewer Street (between Park and Monaghan) just after 1 a.m. Tuesday morning.
Very few details were released, but the Peterborough Police Service issued a media release at 3:22 a.m. indicating that they were on scene “regarding an alleged home invasion.”

Police say the investigation is in its early stages and have made no further information available except to say there is no threat to public safety.
The Forensic Identification Unit was also on scene. Early Tuesday, officers could be seen searching the ground in the area with flashlights.
