Desperate Ticats need a ‘W’ on Labour Day

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats haven’t done a lot of winning in 2017. In fact, they haven’t won at all. They are winless and in the midst of their worst start to a season in a decade.

On the field, it has been almost a weekly ritual of watching the boys in Black and Gold come up short, or more often than not, get blown out by the opposition.

Even off the field, this team has come out on the losing end in 2017. The Art Briles fiasco of a week ago was a massive blunder, and one that fans won’t soon forget.

But it’s Labour Day, and despite Hamilton’s embarrassing 0-8 record, a victory over their arch-rival Toronto Argonauts will go a long way to restore what little faith their fans still have in the team.

Labour Day is, as they say, the unofficial start to the CFL season. The home stretch, the back half of the season, is here.

The days get shorter, game nights are cooler, and the hunt for the playoffs turns the marathon into a sprint to the finish.

Yes, a victory for Hamilton on Labour Day would be a lot of fun to see. It always is when “we” beat “them.”

If there was ever a time for the Tabbies to turn their season around, Labour Day would be the perfect day to start.
