UPDATE: The SIU has since dropped the case.
The province’s police watchdog is investigating after officers in Grand Bend made an early morning arrest Sunday.
Lambton OPP say they responded to a tavern on Main Street at 1 a.m. to a report of a female causing a disturbance.
Officers say they arrested a female and while in their custody she reported an injury to police.

The SIU has been notified and the OPP says it’s also running its own investigation into the case.
The SIU is an arm’s length agency that investigates reports involving police where there has been death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault.
