The Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit has charged Drew LaPlante of Regina with making written child pornography.
The investigation into LaPlante, who is 36 years old, began on June 24 when the ICE unit was notified of an unknown person from Regina chatting and engaging online with other chatroom participants. On September 5, the ICE unit identified LaPlante as the unknown person and arrested him.

Search warrants were then executed at LaPlante’s home and workplace and several digital devices were taken for examination.
LaPlante appeared in Provincial Court Wednesday morning.
