Medical examiner finds death of woman in Grande Prairie apartment fire not suspicious

The death of a woman in a Grande Prairie apartment building fire has been deemed not suspicious by the Chief Medical Examiner in Edmonton.

After emergency crews responded to a fire at an apartment complex in Grande Prairie at around 7:03 a.m. on Sept. 6 morning, they discovered a woman dead inside.

RCMP said crews were called to a suite in the Montrose Apartments on the city’s east side.

A woman was found inside the apartment and later confirmed to be dead.

No one else was injured, RCMP said.

The woman’s 55-year-old’s name has not been released.
