Hamilton police investigating shooting near Barton and Sherman

Hamilton police are looking for witnesses after an early-morning shooting.

Police say they were called to the area of Barton Street East and Sherman Avenue at about 5 a.m. on Saturday for reports of shots fired.

Officers found a man suffering from non-life-threatening injuries, and he was brought to hospital in stable condition.

The motive for the shooting isn’t clear at this time and there are currently no suspects.

Police have temporarily closed off the area of Barton between Chestnut Avenue and Gibson Avenue for the investigation.
