Hundreds of Winnipeggers are expected to congregate outside one of the city’s most famous buildings Saturday afternoon as they unite against hate.
‘Winnipeg’s Diversity Rally Against Hate’ takes place at the Manitoba Legislature at 2 p.m. Organizers said the peaceful rally is a response to “the organized rise of local and worldwide white supremacist and other fear mongering.”

Saturday’s event will include speakers representing different faiths and from grassroots activists movements, including LGBTTQ and human rights advocates. It is open to anyone who is interested.

The event was originally planned as a way to fight back against an anti-immigration rally planned for Saturday by The Worldwide Coalition Against Islam Canada. That gathering has since been cancelled.
