7 charged in break-in that left London man dead

Charges have been laid following a stabbing in the city’s east end earlier this week.

Seven people, including two youths, have been charged with break and enter.

The five adults, ranging in age from 18 to 38 have also been charged with assault with a weapon.

One of the adults, a 34-year-old London woman is also facing a third charge of uttering threats. A list with the names of those charged and their respective charges can be found below.

Late Monday night, 43-year-old Raymond Beaver died after he was stabbed in what his family has said was a home invasion at their residence on Lansdowne Avenue between Nelson Street and Trafalgar Street.

Police said they responded to a call around 11:30 p.m. where they found a man who had been stabbed and another who was suffering from non-life-threatening injuries as a result of an assault.

Both were taken to hospital. Beaver was pronounced dead. The other man, Beaver’s 47-year-old uncle George Janes, was later released.

Officers said several people were seen running from the scene.

All those charged have been taken into custody.

As of yet, no one has been charged with in connection with the death of Beaver, but police say the investigation is ongoing.

The following have been charged as part of the investigation into the homicide of Raymond Beaver:

  • Daniel Cavanagh, 32, of London, is charged with break and enter and assault with a weapon.
  • Melissa George, 34, of London, is charged with break and enter and assault with a weapon. She is also charged with uttering threats.
  • Nicholas George, 18, of London, is charged with break and enter and assault with a weapon.
  • Peter Townsend, 20, of London, is charged with break and enter and assault with a weapon.
  • Lisa Sager, 38, of London, is charged with break and enter and assault with a weapon.
  • Two male youths are each charged with break and enter.
