Investigators are working to determine what sparked a house fire in Airdrie on Wednesday morning.
The fire on Flett Drive N.E. started at around 6 a.m., causing damage to at least two homes.
Airdrie Fire Department Deputy Chief Garth Rabel said one home is completely destroyed, while the other is “severely damaged.”
Rabel also confirmed no occupants of either home were injured by the fire.
Capt. Richard Stone from the Airdrie Fire Department said they were able to save a cat from the house where the fire originated.

“I made a couple of cat noises into the basement and all of a sudden I heard one back,” he said. “I notified the crew that I was going to go downstairs and I found her on a ledge in the corner of the basement.”
